Our client's property was on the brink of collapse

During a Client’s planned maintenance works at one of their properties, major concerns were identified and raised regarding the integrity of the building structure.  This was completely unrelated to the minor works that were being completed but credit to the contractor for going above and beyond to highlight these issues.

Following the structural survey, it was evident that emergency works were required due to the imminent danger of collapse of the entire building.  This was obviously a serious concern for our Client and they emphasised that a key objective, as part of the works required to make the building safe, was to avoid closure of the business.

Make were able to provide a variety of reactive services (Designer, Contract Administrator, Quantity Surveyor, Health & Safety Advisor and Statutory Consents) to turn this around in record time.  The ‘before’ image shows typical cracking to the external walls before the works were completed, with the ‘after’ image showing the wall made good following the emergency works.

Make are proud to confirm that the property was rapidly made safe, the building remained fully operational during the works and the full brief was turned around in 20 weeks with no detriment to our Client’s trade.
