Q: What made you choose to work at Make?

As I already had family members working for Make, I was already aware that there was a wealth of experienced professionals operating in a friendly working environment. A supportive culture was essential to me as I strived to become a building surveyor. Make was undoubtedly my number one choice.

With previous experience in the construction industry, I had many transferrable skills and expertise to offer, so I approached Make and asked them to consider me for the role.

Q: Talk us through your journey with Make so far?

My journey with Make is still in its infancy, but I’m enjoying it very much and look forward to every day.

Q. What is the best thing about working at Make?

Everyone at Make is so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, working towards the same goals of growing the business while at the same time growing ourselves professionally. Everybody is focused on providing the best service possible for our clients.

Q. What does a typical day look like for you?

There isn’t really a typical day in the life of a building surveyor. I can be doing one task one minute and another the next, either in the office or wherever in the country.

Q. What do you like the most about your role?

I like the wide variety of the role of a building surveyor. I never get bored as there is no repeating the same tasks day in and day out. I’m always learning and growing.

Q. What have been your biggest achievements during your time so far with Make?

My biggest achievement so far would be the first job I was awarded by a client.

Q. How have Make Supported you with your progression so far?

Make has believed in me and supported me in my education and career progression.

Q. Where do you see your future career taking you over the next 5-10 years?

In the next five years, I will have completed the chartered building surveyor degree apprenticeship at The University College of Estates Management. Success will see me being awarded an MSc and becoming a member of RICS. I plan to be a solid and reliable team member and further my career with Make, working towards becoming a senior building surveyor.
