Q: What made you choose to work at Make?

The company came highly recommended as ‘a great place to work’ and I can see why.

Q: Talk us through your journey with Make so far?

I have a varied career history prior to Make, covering Administration, Secretarial, Marketing, Events coordination, Training and Development, and Management.  With having a young family, I was looking for a new challenge on a part-time basis which is sometimes difficult as I very often find that part-time roles don’t tend to be all that challenging.  I was made aware of a vacancy within the Administration team by a friend who highly recommended Make so I jumped at the chance of sending over my CV and was delighted to start my new chapter with the business back in June 2019.

I started with Make as a Senior Administrator and quickly progressed to Office Manager where I now continue to wear many hats within the business.  I certainly found that perfect role that ticks the boxes for challenging, motivation, and reward.  Alongside my Office Manager role, I am heavily involved in both the smooth running of the business and our Marketing activities of all kinds.

I have had many successes since joining the business, but to name just a few … I have managed a hefty office move as the business outgrew our previous premises, various recruitment and personnel demands, the challenges of Covid, numerous tender submissions and I absolutely loved working on the re-branding of the business.  I really do enjoy how varied my role is.

Q. What is the best thing about working at Make?

The people are amazing and really are very good at what they do!  It’s great to work for such a forward-thinking company that recruits well and in turn values employees and rewards staff on a regular basis, not only with praise and giving credit where credit is due, but also with random treats.  We have many staff perks such as regular staff days/evenings out, free hospitality tickets at any Nottingham Motorpoint Arena events, and even breakfast cobs on a Friday!

Q. What is it about the position/sector that made you select this career route?

I enjoy all aspects of administration and was looking for a challenging role that would keep me motivated so I feel like this role was made for me.

Q. What have been your biggest achievements during your time so far with Make?

Managing through the re-branding of the business has got to be my biggest achievement. It has taken a while but was certainly worth the extra time and thought that went behind it all. It looks amazing!
