Giles Warhurst’s journey with Make began after years of professional acquaintance with our Managing Director and company’s founder, Craig Gould. Giles has since worked across various teams, including Commercial, Blue Light, and Education, interacting with a diverse client base. Make’s consistent emphasis on a personalised, client-focused approach is something that Giles has enjoyed being heavily involved in and his pride in being part of the Make Consulting team is evident as we see both existing and new clients continue to show strong loyalty.
Q: What made you choose to work at Make?
Working elsewhere, but having known and worked alongside the founder of Make Consulting for many years I found myself in a position where it was worth having a chat about what opportunities Make might have to offer so across the space of 3 days I got in touch by text, had a chat on the phone, had a chat in person and shook hands on a deal. The rest is largely a happy history, and that’s generally how things are at Make. Welcoming, friendly and informal (when its appropriate to be so).
Q: Talk us through your journey with Make so far?
Ive worked on the Commercial team, the Bluelight team and now find myself in the Education team, so Ive worked with a wide range of clients and learned a great deal about many different sectors of our industry, but the common theme from Make is always to provide that personal approach, befriending our clients and try to become part of their team, almost as much as we are part of our own team here at Make. Whether we are dealing with the corporate world, the carers in the NHS and the ambulance service, the police’s “boys in blue” or teachers and educational trusts we always try to provide that human, personal, approachable touch.
Of course, this sometimes means we have to go the extra mile, and maybe do a bit more than the original fee quote allowed for, but I love the fact that the management team recognise this and are focussed on the provision of a quality service, rather than scrimping over every last penny of fee. So far, this approach seems to be paying dividends as the company has grown significantly since I joined in 2018 and is continuing to do so. Existing clients are keen to stick with us, and new clients keep picking up the phone, as a consequence of which the Make team keeps growing to accommodate.
Q. What is the best thing about working at Make?
Im very proud to be a part of Make Consulting and very glad that I found a work home amongst good people.
