Our approach to re-configuring a client’s building is based on immersing ourselves in the project vision, but with due deference to the:
- Age of the building;
- Building fabric type;
- Structural limitations/considerations;
- Asbestos considerations;
- Useful life of M&E plant and equipment;
- Potential future use of the building;
- Lead times for critical products/materials.
Our experience has enabled us to gain considerable client insight into the challenges they face when undertaking refurbishment project, including but not limited to:
- Moving core function areas whilst the work is carried out-e.g., the reception;
- Ensuring the planned works are fully communicated to staff so that they understand the impact of the works and nature of the enhancements;
- Maintaining critical business functions and services;
- Maintaining site security/access and egress;
- Incorporating fire safety improvements;
- Improving the well-being of staff;
- Considering the decarbonisation requirements.
For every project, we undertake design workshops and options appraisals with the client to present them with several well considered and commercially viable scenario’s which can be debated with all the project stakeholders to find the best solution.
