Make Consulting are proud to have been commended by the ESFA after their Asset Management presentation at last week’s Academies Show.

Make and David Irish of the Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust, provided delegates with an insight in to the new estate management model that they have jointly co-designed, the details of which mirror many of the issues that are addressed through GEMS:

  • Strategic estate management
  • Ensuring your Trust meets its Statutory Compliance requirements
  • Condition Surveys and the effective use of the collected data
  • Reducing costly reactive maintenance and increasing planned preventive maintenance programmes
  • Aligning identified asset liabilities with funding streams, budgets and building reserves to meet future estate development
  • Ensure best value procurement is achieved

Make have developed a flexible estate management service that seeks to provide the trust with essential strategic advice and put in place the building blocks to maximise best practice and returns on investment.

This is a welcome suite of documents, the ESFA have provided a comprehensive guide to trusts for the management of their estates. The market is buoyant and highly fluid with many trusts expanding. As they do so, they take on greater risks and more extensive liabilities. It is essential that they do so fully equipped with a strategic plan in place along with a sound operational procedures and programmes. GEMS will assist trusts in the pursuit of these aims and objectives. We at Make have been building our service provision to help trusts achieve their expansion plans and we look forward to working with trusts of all sizes.
